Major Milestone Reached!!!

Abby has reached a MAJOR milestone today... today she woke up from her nap with her first case of "Bed Head"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the day would never come when she would actually have enough hair to have bed head!!!!

Logan 1 Month

We can't believe Logan's first month has come and gone! We have been having so much fun watching him grow and change with each day. His big sister loves to give him kisses and gently touch his nose. We have been busy meeting lots of family and friends.

Time flies when you are not getting any sleep...

I can't believe Logan is already one month old!! I have been wanting to do a post for his birth and it is already time for me to do his one month post!! Well since I haven't finished his 1 month slide show I figured I would start from the beginning and do his "Welcome Little One" post :) (this is mostly for my record because I am sure anyone who reads this blog already knows this info, or doesn't care... but hey, it's my blog and I want the info there. Don't worry I will post some pictures so you can just skip to the end and enjoy!)

We welcomed our precious baby boy, Logan Thomas, Monday, August 10, at 10:20pm. He weighed 7lbs 7oz and was 19.5 inches.

There are already so many crazy similarities to his sister

1) He was born at 10:20, just 30 minutes later than the time his sister was born.

2) He had the same AWESOME labor and delivery nurse! (ok, so it was my sister-in-law, but she didn't have to come it to deliver either of them because she was already working both times I went into labor)

3)I delivered him in the exact same room I delivered Abby

4) Abby was 3 weeks early and he was 3 weeks and 4 days early

5) they both weighed 7lbs 7oz at birth

6) Abby was 19 inches and he was 19.5

7) They both were quick and easy deliveries

8) They both LOVE their sleep and are great sleepers from the start (it is so hard to wake up a peacefully sleeping child to nurse them during the night...)

9) The first comment I get when someone sees them for the first time is always "he/she looks just like his/her dad"

Before Logan was born, my family was all in the room hanging out waiting for him to come. We decided to take a poll to guess his birth weight. My brother Kevin, who always has interesting methods to determine his guesses, went first and said 7lbs 6oz. Then says "wait, how tall is Yao Ming? 7'6" yeah, ok 7 - 6 that is my guess." We all laughed at him because that was of course ridiculous. I guess he got the last laugh when he was only 1 ounce off and won!

It's hard work being born! Time for a nap!!

Getting Ready for Logan!!!

So with Logan's birth just around the corner my nesting instincts have kicked in... We have been working very hard on getting everything ready for his big arrival! With help from friends we have managed to get a few projects done.

Seth and Rhett have painted his room to look just like I wanted.

Gina helped me sew his quilt.

Brittany helped me work on his letter canvases to put above his crib.

Heather and I worked on getting his room all organized and clothes put away. (sorry, no pictures because that would be boring...)

Lastly, Seth and I put together his bookshelf tonight. I can't believe we have waited this long to get things ready, but little by little we are getting there. :)

Long overdue update...

So I have been wanting to update my blog for a long time now. I realized the other day that it has almost been a month since I last blogged... Wow, so much has happened this past month...

Abby has started working out with 5 lbs. weights...

Abby has been working on her dog whispering skills...

We celebrated Father's Day with the best daddy ever!!

Abby LOVES the pool, especially when daddy is there to play with her!!!

Seth and I got to go see Wicked one of the best musicals ever.

We celebrated 4th of July. Abby of course slept through the entire firework display!!

Abby has learned to dress herself... even if it is in Daddy's clothes and shoes...

yes her head is in the arm hole, and her arm is in the head hole, hey she is only one...

We had a blast at shower for Logan...

And last but not least, she still finds trouble wherever she can...

The things kids say...

So today Abby and I spent the afternoon at the pool with our good friend Gina and her kids. I was sitting on the steps of the pool with Abby floating in front of me in her "baby boat" and Gina's youngest child Bella playing on the step next to me. Bella looks over at me points at my belly and says "what's that bump?" I tell her that there is a baby in my belly. She was a little confused. I told her his name is Logan and he is growing in there. I thought that was all and she went on playing. About 5 minutes later she comes back over to me and tries to lift up my swimsuit to see what I have stuffed under there. I had to explain to her again it really was my belly. I am still not positive she is convinced that I didn't stuff a ball under my top...

I know some of you have requested that I post a picture of my "bump", but I don't have a good one, so I will work on that this weekend.

Every month I have taken a picture of Abby on the same chair with the same teddy bear. This past month I took her last picture with the bear. It was so fun to go back through and see how much she changed each month.

Abby is 1 Year Old!!!

I can't believe it has already been a year! It seems like it was just last month when I was calling Seth telling him it is time to go to the hospital! What a year it has been. Abby has been so fun to watch grow up. She definitely keeps me on my toes, and always gives us plenty to laugh at!

My Middle Name Must be Trouble...

Abby is always doing something. She makes us laugh all the time, because you never know what she is going to do next. There are times when she will be over playing with a toy all by herself, then run over to us and start laughing, then run right back to playing with her toys again! She is always on the move and she moves much faster than her pregnant mom these days!! The only time you have to worry about her is when you realize that it has been quiet for about 30 seconds... It doesn't take long for her to find trouble... Here are just a few examples from this month. At least these were the ones we were able to capture on camera...

For starters, Abby loves to crawl under our end table and come to you by the couch. She then reaches up to get things off the table you have told her she can't play with. I finally got smart (or so I thought) and moved the couches closer to the table and the table closer to the wall so "she can't fit in there anymore." So much for that idea...

Next, apparently she is getting taller and the tissues that i put up on the kitchen table "out of her reach," well I guess they are no longer out of her reach!!

and lastly, Seth was getting his golf clubs ready to go to the range and apparently he forgot to zip up the little pocket that has his gum in it... Yeah, she was really happy when I took that stick of gum from her, let me tell you...

What am I going to do in 3 months when she figures out she will have me out numbered???!!!

Abby 11 Months

Can you believe it? This is the third post this week!! I am hoping to start a new trend... It is so hard to believe that Abby is almost a year old! Abby is such a happy baby, and quite the eater, as long as you don't try to feed her any of that baby food!! She is constantly on the move and loves to play. Hope you enjoy the pictures.
